Maison du Macaron

Going to school in the city, I try and prioritize going to new places around New York at least once a week. Though I'm not a native, I want to be able to suggest new and unlikely places for people to go when they visit. Looking around online last night, I saw some beautiful photos of French Macarons. I feel almost embarrassed to say that that I'd never tried one after seeing so much buzz about them everywhere. One blog suggested Maison du Macaron on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th. After my Research Methods class, I decided to walk on down. I ordered two macarons, almond and pink champagne. They were amazing and I highly recommend trying if you haven't before!

Yes To Great Skin!

I have very sensitive skin and recently discovered (thanks to the Good Guide) the products I had been using were full of chemicals and alcohol, totally defeating the purpose of a moisturizer. I purchased Yes to Cucumbers facial towelettes a while back and LOVED the way it left my skin feeling so refreshed at the end of a day where I was too lazy to wash my makeup off. I decided to try other products from this line and so far I am loving the way it makes my skin ten times softer and the smell is great. It has mostly natural ingredients which is important because it won't irritate your skin and this moisturizer even calms inflamation. I can't wait to try more from the Yes To collection!

A Daily Adventure

Une aventure quotidienne in French simply means, a daily adventure. Though having a routine can make life so much more manageable and gives us a sense of comfort, I treasure that one moment of my day where something unusual occurs. Commuting to school everyday, I tend to have these moments all of the time. For example, a 5:00 train from Penn Station is jam packed with men and women in black power suits and briefcases. It is the end of the day, and all who ride the LIRR are fully exhausted. When I scrounge through my bag to get my ticket, I see a small child in a carriage with gleaming blue eyes and this perfect smile waving her tiny hand in my direction. A moment like this in light of my current surrounding gives me this amazing appreciation of the little things. It almost changes my mood entirely. Of course, when you are twenty years old, other days are a lot more exciting, some days are full of heartbreak and some days you just don’t know how to feel. My point is each day is measurable no matter what goes on and I want to share that here.

Amongst my experiences, I will also be sharing pictures, fashion, home décor, tutorials and favorite products. I hope you enjoy!
